Târoot
2025 WIP
In collaboration with INSA, IRISA and Immersia research labs
Târoot is a single-user extended reality (XR) art installation that explores the connections between memory, transmission, and introspection. The narrative centers around a young woman (portrayed by the artist) and the stories her grandmother used to tell her before summer naps in Tehran. The viewer is invited to discover these stories through a card-drawing session, unfolding in three interconnected parts.
After an initial virtual reality scene, the visitor, through augmented reality, is presented with three stacks of cards: the past, the present, and the future. Each card triggers an original composition, a 3D animation, a story, and contributes to calculating a personalized herbal tea recipe. This tea can then be made and enjoyed on-site, within the installation.
This project won funding under the “One Artist, One Scientist” program by IRISA (Arts, Culture & Heritage transversal theme) in January 2025. With this support, a first version of the installation was produced. The project is currently searching for additional fundings.
